Changes at Urias

With bittersweet pride, Urias Communications announces that Lisa Urias has accepted the position of Chief Program and Community Engagement Officer at the Arizona Community Foundation, starting April 1, while remaining President Emerita of the agency.

Throughout her career, Lisa leveraged her growing influence as a businesswoman to help underserved communities. She served on several community organizations’ boards and won acclaim for her work from several prominent publications. Lisa’s new position with ACF reflects her lifelong journey to eliminate barriers and disparities for the betterment of the community.

Lisa founded Urias Communications in 2006 as a multicultural advertising and public relations agency designed to respond to the growing multicultural markets of the U.S. Southwest. Understanding and communicating with diverse communities in meaningful ways has been the agency’s guiding principle and the force behind our many award-winning campaigns. As we assume the responsibility of managing the agency and our clients, we remain committed to acting as a bridge for corporations, non-profits, and government agencies to strengthen their relationships with communities of color and working with other minority-owned businesses to reach broader markets.

Urias Communications is proud to be a minority-owned-and-operated business. Diversity has always been in our DNA, and under our leadership, we will remain the only agency in the Valley with a truly multicultural makeup, from top to bottom.

Jason Coochwytewa, former Chief Operations Officer & Senior Vice President of the agency, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer.
