Arizona-based Woz Enterprise – a division of Woz U – and University of Phoenix are bringing the technology and education sectors together to launch a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program to address the widening technology skills gap and put Americans to work. Community college graduates in STEM fields enter this modern apprenticeship program, and receive training in one of seven essential technology tracks, and then put those day-one skills to work with one of Woz Enterprise’s recruiting business partners.
Apprentices continue their training on the job, while earning a salary and training hours that can be applied for college credit at University of Phoenix. This innovative program trains individuals to meet the staffing needs of the technology industry, while putting Americans back to work and on a path to earn degrees.
